Daily Bible Study: Day One- 2 Timothy 4:1-5

Modern Gnosticism & The Timeless Apologetic: The Biblical Teaching Against False Teaching

Observation: What do I see in the text?

1. Read the introduction to 2 Timothy in your study Bible.

2. Read 2 Timothy 4 all the way through at least once.

3. Read 2 Timothy 4:1-5 at least twice.
  • Mark any key words/terms that you find in your reading. An example of a key word in verse 2 would be the word "word." The Greek word for "word" is the word logos which refers to a statement, saying, or in this case to revelation. Paul is exhorting Timothy to preach the revelation or Word of God.
  • Mark key verbs/verbal phrases noticing whether they are past, present, or future. An example of a key verb in verse 2 is the verb "preach." The verb means to preach or proclaim the word of God now making a decisive choice to do so.
